I am directed to refer to refer this office letter of even number dated 02nd February, 2015 (Copy enclosed) on the above mentioned subject. It is reiterated that necessary follow-up action with the banks assessed in your region may please be taken for deposit of TDS during the month of March, 2015.

Sub: Monitoring of Budget Collection- Follow up of TDS to be paid by banks and TCS by the State Governments.

I am directed to say that all public sector banks have been requested by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance to ensure that tax deducted during the month of March, 2015 is remitted to the Government account in the month of March, 2015 itself. A copy of the specimen of the D.O. letter dated 22.01.2015 issued to the CMDs/ MDs of the banks is enclosed for ready reference. Similar letter has also been written to the Chairman, Indian Banks’ Association for compliance by the non-PSU banks.

2. This is further stated that a D.O. letter has been written by the Revenue Secretary to the Chief Secretaries of all States, requesting them to suitably direct the officials concerned to ensure proper tax collection at source (TCS) on lease/ licence/ contract for mining and quarrying and for parking lots and toll plazas. A copy of the specimen of the D.O. letter dated 20.01.2015 is enclosed for ready reference.

3. It is requested that the matter regarding compliance/ implementation of these directions of the Revenue Secretary and the Department of Financial Services may kindly be followed up with the State Government and the banks assessed in your Region and a report in the matter submitted to Member (Revenue) by the end of this month.
